Mobilization: It’s Time

Mobilization - the act or process of marshaling, organizing, or preparing something for action.

After more than 15 years of casting the vision, and over 5 years of building and constructing Casa Nissi, the time has come to mobilize.

For the past 40 days, I’ve intentionally stepped away from the paintbrushes and the constant coordination of construction projects to refocus—to separate myself and seek clarity. I needed to pause and listen - not just to my own dreams, but to what God is saying now about the very heart of this mission: Bring Them Home.

And so, here I go. Eyes fixed forward. Heart open.

The journey is unfolding. It began with my time at the European Freedom Network Conference in Vienna - an incredible space of learning, connection, and affirmation. And now, as I prepare to visit the U.S. to celebrate my 60th birthday, I step into a new decade of life with renewed purpose and boldness.

This is my final destiny and calling: to mobilize, implement, and prepare to open the doors of Casa Nissi to welcome our first survivors of sex trafficking.

This summer marks the beginning of intentional outreach - reaching women who are prostituting in our local area, and partnering with ministries in Romania, Greece, and Germany. This isn’t just about programming. It’s about relationship. It’s about trust. It’s about learning what is working in other homes like Casa Nissi, so we can build something deeply restorative here.

Our prayer and our goal is simple, yet powerful: That those who come to Casa Nissi as victims will leave as healed survivors - knowing they are loved by Jesus.

The time is now.

Let’s mobilize.

A New Door Opens: Stepping Stone Missions Joins EFN

This year, Stepping Stone Missions was honored to become a member of the European Freedom Network (EFN) - a network of organizations united in the fight against human trafficking and sexual exploitation across Europe.

Our membership came just in time for EFN’s annual Bridge Conference, held in Vienna, Austria. It was an incredible experience to meet and network with others who share the same heart and passion for helping women - people who are deeply involved in prevention, rescue, and aftercare.

Throughout the conference, one theme kept surfacing: the unique challenges of working with Romanian women. It’s estimated that 8–10 women prostituting in the EU are from Romania - a sobering statistic that highlights just how important the work here truly is. Hearing how NGOs in other countries are struggling to reach and support Romanian women affirmed that Casa Nissi is not only needed but vital.

Beyond the conference itself, I’ve had the opportunity to participate in multiple online trainings and informational Zoom classes. These have been invaluable as we begin to take our next steps. I’ve also been invited to visit and do outreach alongside some truly special people I met during the event. I’m looking forward to deepening these relationships and continuing to learn from others who are further down the road in this work.

This new connection with EFN is a divine appointment - one that will help us grow stronger, work smarter and stay united as we prepare to open Casa Nissi’s doors.

The Power of Stories!

When I was 15 I was forced to sell my body in Italy. A family friend in Albania tricked me, and he would wait outside my school for me. He told me he had an aunt in Italy and that we could start a life there. I felt I didn’t have many options as I was experiencing abuse at home. He promised me many things. We travelled in a small green van to Vlora where I went on the ferry to Brindisi. He took me to a House and there were three other men there, all of them abused me at the same time. It was like that for a month, with different men every day. If I said no then they would only take away my food or beat me more. They said I was illegal in Italy and if I tried to leave they would tell my family I was a prostitute and I would be shamed. I felt broken. After weeks of this I was moved to a hotel, there were two other Women in the same room as me. The room was guarded and I never saw him again. The men who watched me knew the hotel owner, sometimes he would hurt me too. Every night I saw countless men, I lost track of days and felt completely lost in myself.

Casa Nissi

We're Almost There!

Our focus remains strong on Casa Nissi, and I’m excited to share that we’re nearing the finish line on the interior work! Next week, we’ll paint the final two bedrooms and a bathroom - and with that, the painting will be done!

I’ve also ordered some of the furniture and beds, and they’re scheduled to arrive and be assembled next week. After that, I’ll begin the fun (and faith-filled!) process of adding the finishing touches - decor, dressers and wardrobes - as time and finances allow.

It feels so good to be moving beyond the construction phase and into making this house a true home.

Once summer arrives, we’ll shift our focus outdoors to begin the stucco and concrete work. One step at a time, we’re getting closer!

Thank you for your continued prayers, encouragement, and generosity. Your faithfulness has brought us this far - but we’re not done yet. Please don’t give up! We still need your support as we press forward to see Casa Nissi ready to welcome the women God is preparing to send.

Together, we’re building more than a house - we’re building hope.
